I always liked painting, since I was a child and in the way children do. My favourite picture always had a blue line at the top as a sky, a smiling yellow sun with its rays and a green line at the bottom as a meadow. There was always a little house (in two dimensions) and a chicken family, with the cock, the hen and a little chick to represent my family. A child vision of his world!

Some time has passed since my happy childhood but I carried on painting. I tried watercolours, oils and acrylics. Colours and brushes could still keep me busy for hours. Uhm, that's the problem sometimes. Normally painting does take a lot of time, time that the most of us just can't afford to spend. A day I was just buying some new brushes when I came across a Bob Ross demonstration. A fantastic painting appeared on the canvas in front of me in half an hour or so. A vibrant sky, mountains and reflections in the water… So easy! I was fascinated. And I needed to find out more. That was just the beginning of my journey into Bob Ross world.

I did Landscape and Seascape technique first and then the Floral technique followed. Finally was time for the Wildlife technique and I could not resist the opportunity of an advanced Seascape course. Retraining will keep me up to date and maybe be other training opportunities will develop in the future. The journey still continues...

I am very proud I have become a CRI, Certified Ross Instructor. I would like to share with other people now the experience and the emotions that "The Joy of Painting" has to offer. We all need to express ourselves, our creativity and imagination. Painting is magic way to do so. Many people just don’t know where to start from and then never try. Many people have tried other techniques that let them down and then they never painted again. Many people do paint using other techniques and are looking for new experiences. I believe that Bob Ross Technique can be a rewarding answer to different situations and can help us reaching the satisfaction in our artistic dreams we have always been looking for. I am sure it will work for many of you as it did and does for me...
